Back to reality

Hello everyone, I am at the end of my adventure in Australia. Yesterday I came home and by that I greeted the new continent (I hope it is a goodbye!).

With this post I will post the latest photos I took of the holiday in the Whitsunday Islands and 2 days in Byron Bay.

start with Whitsunday Islands is an archipelago of islands located on the east coast to the north between the mainland and the barrier reef. To reach them you need to sail the boat from Airlie Beach, resort marina and tourist resort, with a really intense night life!
My trip consisted of two days of sailing, visiting the most beautiful beaches, snorkeling among the coral reefs and diving.

The arrival at Airlie Beach has been catastrophic, in those weeks, there were storms and flooding throughout the area and just got off the plane I found myself in the midst of the Great Flood!
The next morning, woke up at 6 and meeting at the port at 7 am to leave for Whitehaven Beach. The time for the first time was from hell, we were all on the deck of the boat with the yellow jackets waxed completely washed! Fortunately
after 1 hour and let the bad weather and arrive at the first beach. Once off the beach we were walking in the middle of the forest, and after 20 minutes we reach the lookout point where we can see Whitehaven in all its beauty!

The sand on this beach is composed of 99.999% silicon and used by NASA to build the microscope and it is so white that the sun, reflects, almost annoyed!

After the hike back on the boat, the crew consists of 3 members as me, 14 Irish, one English, one American, four Austrian and two Norwegians. The second stage is
Dumbell Island, including a bit 'of sailing in the middle of the ocean, beautiful!
Once Dumbell, we did snorkeling among the coral reefs and colorful fish and fun, wonderful!

In the evening we anchor at Luncheon Bay for an evening with karaoke and fun, then all to bed!
Here, after a night on the ocean, still ready to do snorkeling Blue Pearl Island, where the beach is made up of coral! Amazing!

Last Holiday is left for me to describe Byron Bay, a town south of Brisbane, famous for its lighthouse and for being the mainland to the east of Australia.
Arrival in Byron at 11 am and waiting for me there is Joseph, a boy I met in Genoa, Brisbane, leads me to the hostel for a good meal before going to surf at Main Beach!
Once eaten, let's go with his van on the beach, take off the table and go surfing, that hard work!

After my surfing lesson given by Joseph, we decided to go to the lighthouse, the view and beautiful, unfortunately I could not see the dolphins!
the evening you go to sleep, but this time I will sleep in the van of Joseph, like a surfer!
Last day in Byron, the weather is not beautiful as the day before but the same goes to surf at Broken Head on the bus and then off to Brisbane.

This unfortunately is the last holiday and the last post in this blog, the plane trip was perfect, the two flights both arrived early, now I have to dispose of the jetlag!

A GREAT THANKS TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT I HAVE FOLLOWED MY ADVENTURE IN READING AND WRITING ON THIS BLOG

is my hope that you can do a fantastic trip like this!

Day 5 - Sydney

last morning in Alice Springs, woke up at 9 and 12 to check-in at the airport to Sydney!
After 2 and a half hour flight we land in the state capital of New Soth Wales where we expect our friend who is added in our journey. The shuttle bus takes us to the hostel, located about 20 minutes from the city center.
During check-in we have a stroke of luck because the rooms are all equipped with 5 people and then we are put in a room by 2 as in the hotel!

After seeing Uluru and the desert I am in Australia's largest city, the skyscrapers are wasted as a succession of small bays, but radical change is the fact that they are not washing makes me feel so much.

First, after we placed the luggage stolen from the port to see the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
Both monuments are really beautiful, the bridge was built with a big job for the time and with the majestic columns at the ends and the arch of iron. We decided not to do the famous climb of the bridge because it is really too expensive, instead we got on the first pier to see the views of Sydney including the Opera House.

How many times have I seen the pictures on television and the Opera House, the architectural symbol of Australia, this construction is unique in its style and is really beautiful, located on a peninsula that divides the harbor from Sydney another small bay.

After visiting the two most beautiful sights of Sydney, take the monorail and take a panoramic city tour, discovering the Darling Harbour, a very nice port not far from the center.
Another attraction is Sydney's Hyde Park that borders the cathedral dressed up again for World Youth Day.
On the coast north of Sydney there are many beautiful beaches, we visited Manly Beach to get there we took the ferry from the port, the journey takes about 20 minutes.
The port is designed to Manly on Sydney's Channel, while the main beach and the ocean, it must then go through a course (great for shopping) of about 800 meters.
The beach is a large bay with waves too high and not suitable for novice surfers.

Speaking of beaches on the coast south of Sydney is the most famous beach in Australia, or Bondi Beach (pronounced Bondai) where the Olympics were played during the beach volleyball competitions. The view is beautiful, the beach is very large, clear sea and the waves are perfect for surfers! Bondi Beach is the last before the city, but going south along the scenic route can be seen carved in three bays coast.

During the last day in Sydney we decided to rent a car to visit the Blue Mountains, located about 150 km from the city. This national park is famous for the three peaks (the three sisters), to the green that surrounds everything, from the valley to the highest mountain and the breathtaking performance that you can enjoy once you arrive in the different viewpoints!
