The Croatian parliament passed the new labor law, harmonized with European standards. The new law provides for the maximum duration of weekly working time of 40 hours (with a maximum of 8 hours of overtime) and the minimum annual leave of four weeks (before the maximum was 18 days).

The Croatian Parliament has also integrated the legislation that regulates the conditions for entitlement to retirement pension for those employees who have worked directly with asbestos. Thanks this legislative intervention to people with asbestosis was entitled to a pension, regardless of their length of work and service.
Finally, we have defined a new system of allowances for the unemployed. The amount of compensation depends on the last wage of the unemployed person and the percentage to be received varies with the duration of unemployment. The grant provided for the first 90 days is equal to 70% of salary, then drop to 50%.
