L'accordo di associazione e stabilizzazione el'accordo interinale sugli scambi commerciali tra l'Unione Europea e la Serbia è stato il firm 29 April 2008. Nel marzo 2009 è stato un accordo tra raggiunto by Serbia e il Fondo monetario internazionale per l'accordo trasformare stand-by, the company nel gennaio 2009, in un programma di di spesa di Euro 3 billion, approvato May 15, 2009 by the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund.
At a time of economic crisis and the international financial Serbia has requested additional Community financial assistance because of the deteriorating situation and economic prospects. In response to this request, the decision 2009/892/CE, the Community has provided financial assistance for Serbia in the form of a loan to a maximum amount of € 200 million in capital, for a maximum of fifteen years. All this to support the economic stabilization of Serbia and the need to lighten its balance of payments and budget identified in the program International Monetary Fund.
