Financial assistance to SERBIA BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA

The Stabilisation and Association Agreement and the Interim Agreement on trade between the EU and Bosnia-Herzegovina were signed June 16, 2008. In May 2009 the country signed a spending plan amounted to € 1.15 billion with the International Monetary Fund for a period of three years. Considering the international economic and financial crisis, Bosnia and Herzegovina has requested additional assistance community.

In response to this request, the decision 2009/891/CE, the Community has provided assistance to Bosnia-Herzegovina this macro in the form of loans to a maximum of 100 million € and a maximum average of 15 years. The objective is to support the economic stabilization of the country and to relieve the needs of its balance of payments and budget identified in the program of the International Monetary Fund.
